How to Perform a Full Detail in Your Garage
Do you love your car, but don’t have the money to take it to a professional detailing shop? Or maybe you just enjoy doing things yourself? Either way, performing a full detail on your car at home is a great way to save some money and keep your car looking its best. EliteMCD will walk you through the steps necessary to perform a complete detail on your car in your garage. We’ll cover everything from vacuuming and shampooing the carpets to polishing the paintwork! Let’s get started!
The first thing you’ll need to do is gather all of the supplies and materials you’ll need. Here is a list of everything you’ll need:
– A vacuum cleaner with attachments
– A carpet shampooer (optional)
– A bucket
– A sponge or washcloth
– Car soap or shampoo
– Tire shine/protectant (optional)
– Glass cleaner
– Window cleaning towels.
Once you have everything gathered, the first step is to vacuum the interior of your car. Start with the floor mats and work your way up. Be sure to get in all the nooks and crannies, as this will help remove any dirt or debris that could potentially damage your carpets. If you have a carpet shampooer, you can use this on the carpets and upholstery for a deep clean. Otherwise, just shampoo them by hand using a sponge or washcloth.
Next, move on to cleaning the windows. Start with the inside of the windshield and work your way out. Be sure to use a lint-free towel so you don’t leave any streaks behind. Once the inside is done, move on to the outside of the car. If your windows are particularly dirty, you may need to use a brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove all the grime.
Now it’s time to wash the exterior of your car. If you have access to a hose, you can do this right in your driveway. Start at the top of the car and work your way down, using a sponge or washcloth to remove any dirt or grime. Be sure to rinse the sponge or washcloth often so you don’t spread any dirt around. Once you’re finished washing, dry the car off with a clean towel.
Now that the exterior is all clean and shiny, it’s time to move on to the tires. If you have tire shine/protectant, simply apply this according to the instructions on the bottle. If not, you can just use a regular soap or shampoo. Start by washing each tire and then rinsing them off. Once they’re all clean, dry them off with a towel.
